We are looking for a senior level civil/environmental engineer with a minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental and civil engineering liquids and vapor system design, operations and maintenance and solid waste. The successful candidate should be able to take projects from initial scoping and definition, through design, construction and startup testing, and system optimization acting as the technical, management and client lead. At a minimum must have a familiarity with liquids management and treatment, soil vapor and landfill gas management and treatment, permitting and system optimization for remediation of liquids and vapors impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and metals. Special consideration for specific experience at solid waste disposal sites. This role is a part time, as needed (0 fixed hours) role. The pay scale for this position is $120.00 - $150.00 an hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
- Manage and act as lead engineer designing, constructing, and operating soil, groundwater, and soil gas remediation
- Prepare cost proposals, work orders, work plans, and technical reports
- Act as a primary client manager for scoping, design, construction, and O&M of water and vapor treatment system projects including project tracking and financial management
- Mentor staff engineers, geologists, and technicians
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- HAZWOPER certified and up to date
- Groundwater extraction and treatment experience (design, construction management, and O&M)
- Dig & haul remediation experience (design, construction management, and O&M)
- Soil Vapor Extraction Experience (design, construction management, and O&M)
- Building protection systems experience (design, construction management/CQA, and O&M)
- CAD proficient to assist in mentoring design staff
- Field proficient to assist in mentoring staff on investigation, construction, and O&M
- Experience working on landfills is preferred
- Professional engineering registration in California is preferred
