The successful candidate for this position will provide engineering support for the water/wastewater group. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal water/wastewater projects involving collection and conveyance systems, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, and rehabilitation. This position is part of a team that specializes in the engineering of public water systems to upgrade aging infrastructure, provide sustainable solutions, and offer innovative approaches to help preserve safe and reliable water delivery for California. A strong interest in potable water, recycled water, and/or wastewater infrastructure is desired.
Your Role:
- Water/wastewater infrastructure planning and design to include water and wastewater treatment, distribution and transmission mains, wastewater collection, trunk and force main, pumping stations, wells, storage tanks, civil grading, drainage, as well as rehabilitation of existing infrastructure
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, detailed engineering reports and documents
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
- Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues, and interface with other engineering disciplines
- Perform design calculations, analysis, and engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications
- Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and complete work as part of a design team
- Perform construction support services including reviewing shop drawing submittals, responding to requests for information, and evaluating change order requests
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required, Master’s preferred
- Professional Registration (PE) in California, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months, required.
- 8+ years of experience in planning and designing water/wastewater/recycled water distribution/conveyance, pumping, and storage facilities
- Valid Driver’s License with and acceptable driving record
- Background will ideally include project work and process knowledge of water/wastewater facilities projects with municipal, state, and water districts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, as well as Microsoft Office software, to include Word, Excel, word processing and scheduling programs.
- This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
Salary Range: $95,000 - $140,000, depending on experience.
