Power System Modeler - Energy Sector Associate - Serbia or Remote
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 3 years of progressive energy sector experience in electricity utilities and/or consulting firms, including working with a variety of clients and donors
- History of working in power system planning and/or operations, with a deep understanding of power system modeling, load flow calculations, contingency analysis, renewable energy intermittency impacts, dynamic and short-circuit analysis, shunt reactor planning, and energy storage technologies integration.
- Experience with power system simulation software (e.g., DigSilent PowerFactory and/or Siemens PSS/E)
- Experience with market modeling software (e.g., Plexos and/or Antares)
- Proficiency with data analysis and programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, VBA
- Understanding of the European energy market and related regulatory framework (EU acquis on energy)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Valued Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering
- Experience in market modeling, adequacy analysis, scheduling, dispatch, frequency control.
- Willingness to travel internationally to project locations and conferences.
- Experience in the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe
- Other language skills (e.g., Ukrainian, Russian, German).
