Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Field Manager, the part-time PLS (with 5+ years of experience) will support and oversee topographic and construction surveying using drones, RTK GPS, and total stations. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining survey equipment (including the act of jumping to start a drone flight), accurately and efficiently collecting field data, and submitting data in a timely manner.
Your Role: (*denotes essential functions of the job performed with or without reasonable accommodation).
• *Perform control, topographic, and construction surveying using drones, RTK GPS, and total stations.
• *Operate and maintain survey equipment (including the act of jumping to start a drone flight), accurately and efficiently collect field data, and submit data in a timely manner.
• *Perform construction quality assurance (CQA) duties for landfill and landfill gas system construction and complete required documentation.
• *Travel for extended periods, if necessary, including overnight stays. It is anticipated that this position will require travel 40–80% of the time; however, this estimate may change based on client needs.
• *Work effectively and efficiently both as part of a team and independently.
• *Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complex field issues.
• *Walk long distances, including up and down steeply sloped landfills and other outdoor terrain.
• *Work safely in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions.
• *Provide an aggressive and proactive approach to client needs and urgent issues that arise.
• *Be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, on-call, and holidays, if necessary.
Required Qualifications:
• Proficiency with RTK GPS and data collection software.
• Familiarity with control, topographic, and construction staking.
• 5+ years of relative work experience.
• CAD software experience.
• Proficient in the use of a PC, specifically Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to build and retain mutual relationships with clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred A.S. or B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Land Surveying.
• PLS certification is a plus.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate holder or ability to obtain certificate and familiarity with drone surveying is a plus.

• You will be required to drive on a regular basis for Company business. You must maintain a safe driving record as defined by Tetra Tech's Vehicle Safety Program. This offer of employment is contingent upon the successful evaluation of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
• You will be required to successfully pass a urinalysis drug screen. Tetra Tech Solid Waste East is a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol business; as such, you will be subject to quarterly random drug screens where allowable by law.
• Due to the job offered to you and its associated essential job functions, you will be required to pass a comprehensive medical examination.
