Requirements:

  • At a minimum a B.A. or B.S. in an applicable field (i.e., environmental science/policy, natural resources planning, biology, ecology or geography, or a closely related discipline); an advanced collegiate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Detail oriented, with strong technical skills, including data management, analysis, and QA/QC.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, oral presentation, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker, problem-solver, and technical report writer/editor.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with state, federal, and local environmental permitting related to diverse array of regulated natural resources, with a preferred focus on Virginia, New York, New Jersey, or New England.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Other Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

Please highlight any of the following skill sets in your resume and accompanying cover letter:

  • Applied knowledge of ecological assessment, environmental impact analysis, environmental due diligence studies, natural/biological resources management, and habitat conservation planning.
  • Experience completing complex permit applications to BOEM, USACE, USCG, NYSDEC, NJDEP, PADEP, DNREC, MDE, VDEQ, and WVDEP among others.
  • Routing and siting of energy projects (e.g., transmission, solar arrays, export cables, and gas pipelines).
  • Experience processing erosion and sediment control plan applications with county soil conservation districts.
  • Experience processing municipal site plan applications.
  • Ability to review, synthesize, and interpret biological resources information.
  • Experience with NEPA-compliant documentation (BA, EA and EIS).
  • Experience with ESA (Sections 7 and 10) requirements and USFWS consultation process, CWA (Sections 401 and 404) requirements and permit process, and other state-specific environmental regulations.
  • Experience with environmental permitting related to wetlands, wildlife, bats and/or avifauna.
  • Experience as a field team leader, with strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to coordinate large-scale project teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality management, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.
  • Highly motivated and ability to work very well in a team environment, as well as independentlyd.
