The program
Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) is managed by Tetra Tech on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Australia Awards is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesia's development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.
The role
The Outreach & Public Information Officer supports Australia Awards Indonesia in delivering inclusive, accurate public information and outreach across Indonesia. The role assists in organising information sessions, roadshows and partner events, produces and distributes digital and print materials, and manages outreach tools and stakeholder engagement. It responds to public enquiries, supports Aussie Banget Corner activities, and collects data and feedback to inform monitoring and improvement. Working with the Outreach and Public Information Manager, the Public Diplomacy and Communications team and the Australian Embassy and Consulates-General counterparts, the position strengthens public awareness of scholarships and supports coordinated public diplomacy and communications efforts.
Key responsibilities
· Support delivery of outreach, info sessions, roadshows and public events
· Prepare and disseminate public-facing materials across digital, print and social channels
· Assist Aussie Banget Corner roadshows and scholarship information booths
· Respond to public and applicant enquiries in coordination with Inquiry teams
· Maintain outreach tools: schedules, stakeholder lists, FAQs and feedback records
· Collect outreach data/feedback and support monitoring, reporting and public diplomacy activities
Selection criteria
· Tertiary qualification in communications, PR, international relations, development or equivalent experience
· Experience supporting outreach, events, information sessions or public-sector communications
· Skilled in producing/distributing digital and print content and using social platforms
· Experience responding to enquiries and coordinating with multiple teams and partners
· Strong organisation, basic data collection for monitoring, and attention to detail
· Clear written/verbal communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English; service‑oriented and culturally sensitive
