People & Culture Business Partner

We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our Melbourne office on a 14-month fixed-term parental leave contract. This is a part-time role working 3 days per week, supporting business groups across Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane in a hybrid work environment.
This role will suit someone who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, finding better ways of working that stick, and balancing strategic partnering with practical delivery. You will work closely with leaders on workforce planning, employee relations, organisational change, employee engagement, remuneration and performance matters, while also contributing to broader People & Culture initiatives across the business.

What you will do
- Partner with leaders across allocated business groups to provide trusted People & Culture advice and support
- Influence workforce planning, role benchmarking and hiring-related decisions in partnership with Talent Acquisition
- Support employee relations, conduct, performance and change matters with sound judgement and a focus on risk management
- Contribute to employee engagement, performance management and leadership capability activity
- Support remuneration activity, including salary review processes, bonus implementation and role benchmarking\
- Lead or contribute to cyclical P&C programs, process improvements and broader business initiatives
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and coach leaders through people matters in a practical and constructive way
- Analyse trends and work with the broader P&C team to identify opportunities to improve programs, policies and outcomes
About you
Must have
- Demonstrated experience in a People & Culture / HR Business Partner role
- Strong stakeholder management, coaching and influencing capability
- Experience supporting complex people matters across employee relations, performance, engagement and change
- Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including remuneration, employment law compliance, performance management and employee engagement
Experience operating in complex white-collar business environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities
Nice to have
- Professional services or consulting experience
- Experience working in a matrix organisation
- Exposure to intern, graduate or early careers programs
- Experience in engineering or adjacent professional services environments
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, Psychology or similar
