The Entry-Level Marketing/PR Representative supports the business development, communications, and proposal efforts of a growing environmental and solid waste engineering consulting team. This role assists with marketing initiatives, proposal development, social media communications, internal communications, and public relations activities that help promote the company’s technical expertise, projects, and brand presence. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, creative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced professional services environment. The pay scale for this position is $26.00-$31.00 an hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day marketing activities for the solid waste and environmental engineering practice.
- Learn and utilize company-standard software and collaboration tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Canva.
- Help maintain marketing templates, branded materials, and presentation resources.
- Support development of brochures, project sheets, infographics, and promotional materials.
- Assist with formatting and editing technical and marketing documents for consistency and quality.
- Coordinate marketing calendars, deadlines, and deliverables.
Proposal & Business Development Support:
- Assist with preparation of proposals, qualifications packages, and marketing submittals for public and private clients.
- Gather resumes, project information, project statistics, and technical content from engineers and project managers.
- Assist with production and quality control reviews of proposal submissions.
- Coordinate printing, binding, digital assembly, and submission of proposal materials as needed.
- Track proposal opportunities and maintain marketing databases.
- Coordinate with staff to update resumes, certifications, licenses, project experience, and professional affiliations.
- Maintain resume databases and ensure materials remain current and compliant with proposal standards.
- Track employee conference presentations, publications, awards, and professional accomplishments.
Social Media & Digital Marketing:
- Assist with company LinkedIn updates and social media engagement
- Help develop engaging content and graphics for social media platforms.
Public Relations & Corporate Communications:
- Assist with drafting press releases, internal announcements, and company news updates.
- Support coordination of conference participation, sponsorships, trade shows, and industry events.
- Help prepare award submissions and recognition applications for industry organizations.
- Support internal communication efforts through Teams channels, newsletters, and company updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Business, or related field preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Acrobat, and social media platforms preferred.
- Interest in engineering, environmental services, sustainability, or infrastructure industries is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical staff.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Professional attitude and strong customer service mindset.
- Comfortable interacting with engineers, project managers, and leadership teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive proposal materials.
