Main Duties:

  • Manage the successful delivery of large, complex international development programmes, ensuring they meet quality standards, milestones, budgets, and client requirements.
  • Lead and support business development by identifying opportunities, managing end-to-end tender processes, coordinating teams, crafting tailored proposals that clearly communicate value, and collaborating with partners to build competitive tenders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, consultants, and internal teams to support the successful delivery of programs and business growth.
  • Contribute to the wider Economic Growth and Infrastructure Practice by sharing knowledge and mentoring junior colleagues. 
  • Willing and able to travel internationally as required, including to fragile and conflict-affected states and other company offices as required.

Aptitude and skills:

  • An experienced early mid-career professional with demonstrable experience managing international development programmes, ideally in economic growth, infrastructure, private sector development, climate and nature, energy, or related sectors. Experience managing FCDO-funded programmes is highly desirable.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, driven to identify and pursue new business opportunities. You bring a proven track record in business development, including significant contributions to pipeline growth, pursuit strategy, and successful tender submissions, ideally within FCDO-funded contexts. Strong writing skills are highly valued in proposal writing.
  • Technically adept with deep knowledge of inclusive economic growth, climate and/or infrastructure challenges and opportunities in developing country contexts.
  • Well-connected, with extensive networks of potential partners and experts relevant to our geographic and thematic priorities.
  • An outstanding communicator in English (both written and oral), comfortable working across cultures and with global teams.
  • Exceptionally organised, detail-oriented, and numerate, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.

Qualifications:

Educated to Master's level (or equivalent, preferably) in international development, economics, agriculture, engineering, climate and sustainability, or related disciplines.
