The program

Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) is managed by Tetra Tech on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Australia Awards is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesia's development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.


The role

The IT and Data Officer provides operational IT and systems support for Australia Awards Indonesia, ensuring reliable, secure and well‑maintained IT infrastructure, platforms and database environments. Responsibilities include user support, Microsoft 365/SharePoint administration, cyber‑security, backups and disaster recovery, routine database health and access management, and vendor coordination. Working under the IT & Data Coordinator and with data and MEL teams, the role enables staff productivity, system availability, data access controls and effective use of program data and reporting tools as the program evolves.


Key responsibilities

·       Maintain IT infrastructure: networks, servers, hardware, software and user access

·       Implement cyber‑security, backups, disaster recovery and system reliability measures

·       Administer Microsoft 365, SharePoint and records-management systems

·       Provide IT troubleshooting, user support and basic training

·       Support server and database hosting, access permissions, performance and routine backups

·       Coordinate vendors, procurement and liaise with data/MEL teams to align IT and reporting systems

 
Selection criteria

·       Tertiary qualification in IT, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience

·       Experience supporting office IT: hardware, networks, software and user access

·       Experience with Microsoft 365/SharePoint, cyber‑security, backups and disaster recovery

·       Experience supporting database environments (hosting, permissions, backups, performance)

·       Strong problem‑solving, vendor coordination and user-support skills; clear communicator

·       Practical, organised, service‑oriented, discreet and able to work with IT, data and MEL colleagues
