Due to continued growth in our Wellington office, we are seeking an Engineering Geologist to join our consulting team.
 

This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and technically challenging projects across civil, property, renewables and transport infrastructure.

About the Role
 

Our Wellington team offers a close-knit and growing environment. You will be joining a strong national geotechnical team, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
 

Working closely with our experts, you’ll play a key role in delivering the following:

• Planning and undertaking site investigations

• Geological logging of soil and rock

• Slope stability and geohazard assessments

• Foundation assessments and earthworks inspections

• Data interpretation and preparation of technical reports

• Supporting senior staff in design and project management

• Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams

You’ll contribute to projects from feasibility through to construction, gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle. This role offers access to technical expertise, clear career pathways and the opportunity to grow a specialist career with real impact. 

 

About You


This is a mid-level role and we’re looking for someone who brings:

• A minimum of 3 years in engineering geology consulting

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology, Geology or related discipline

• Strong geological logging and site investigation experience

• Solid report writing and technical communication skills

• An understanding of NZ geology and ground conditions (highly regarded)

• A collaborative approach and strong attention to detail

• Work rights within NZ and a full NZ driver licence

• Experience working with QGIS and/or CAD (highly regarded)
  
   

CPEng or PEngGeol (or working towards) is advantageous.
