The Role
 

In this role, you will support the delivery of instrumentation and monitoring projects from scoping through to operation and reporting. 
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with project scoping, specifications, cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation and reporting

  • Contributing to project methodologies and cost estimations

  • Configuring, operating, updating and maintaining web-based monitoring data management systems

  • Managing the import, validation, processing, storage, visualisation and reporting of monitoring data (including survey and GIS data)

  • Reviewing, evaluating and monitoring instrumentation and system performance, and overseeing remedial actions where required

  • Analysing and interpreting monitoring data, including investigation of alarms and anomalous measurements

  • Monitoring hardware and software system performance, liaising with ICT specialists as required

  • Assisting with design, assembly, installation, configuration, commissioning and operation of instrumented monitoring systems

  • Conducting inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs to ensure ongoing reliability and accuracy

  • Preparing installation and monitoring reports

  • Providing technical guidance to project teams on instrumentation-related matters

  • Maintaining and protecting all instrumentation, tools and equipment

  • Travelling to project sites as required
     

     

About You
 

You are a technically capable and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working with complex data and instrumentation systems. 


You bring:

  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of data management systems

  • Experience in a technical, data-driven environment

  • Proficiency in computer systems, communication devices, systems integration and associated software

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically assess monitoring data and system performance

  • A high standard of written communication and ability to prepare clear, concise technical reports

  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence


Highly Regarded
 

The following experience will be viewed favourably:

  • Experience in geotechnical and/or structural instrumentation and monitoring practices

  • Experience in the design and specification of geotechnical instrumentation (structural and environmental monitoring experience also valued)

  • Experience collaborating with geotechnical engineers, hydrologists, structural engineers and project managers to integrate instrumentation into project designs

  • Knowledge of emerging geotechnical instrumentation technologies and innovative monitoring solutions

  • An understanding of the operating model of a specialist consulting business
