Industrial Hygiene Technician - Ann Arbor, MI
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Industrial Hygiene / Environmental Technician within the Ann Arbor and greater Detroit area. As an IH Technician, you will assist a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to collect real time field data at sites throughout the region.

Essential Job Functions:
Help our team assist customers with their industrial hygiene needs in the mid-west and across the world.
Regulated materials surveys; including surveying industrial, commercial, and intuitional buildings.
Asbestos inspections, lead-based paint inspections, indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments, and environmental related projects primarily at project sites.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
0 to 3 years of relevant or related experience.
Must be familiar with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with Adobe.
Must have strong mathematical aptitude, excellent technical abilities, communication, and organizational skills.
A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience preferred in asbestos, lead, indoor air quality (IAQ), and environmental related projects.
Current certifications as an asbestos inspector, asbestos contractor/supervisor, lead inspector or lead risk assessor, NIOSH 582 or equivalent certification, and Hazwoper are desired but not required.
Construction/building systems background experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30lbs over rugged surfaces.
Ability to travel and perform field work (approx. 75%+ of travel required).
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time, moving through facilities primarily outdoors, walking across variable terrain, including uneven ground, in all weather conditions (hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, heavy equipment, etc.).
Ability to work from heights and confined spaces.
Have full range of motion to support field activities.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
Field work will include work to be performed outside, as a result will include working frequently in various environmental factors (weather, altitude, terrain, noise, heights, confined spaces, etc.). This can include being on your feet all day, remaining stationary, bending, lifting, and sitting for surveying and other field activities.
This position may have hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 75 miles of the Ann Arbor, MI office. This arrangement is subject to review and may change at the company’s discretion
Additional Information:
Full-time, Monday through Friday work schedule (40 hours). Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and/or client needs (including working overtime and weekends).
Work will be performed primarily in a field setting.
