Incident Commander
The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is looking for a part-time Incident Commander to work in Southern California. This position is 100% in the field. Work will consist of working 6-7 days a week, including weekends, 10 – 12-hour days and will average 50 – 60 hours per week.
Must be able to mobilize for a minimum of 3 weeks / 30 days.
Tetra Tech will provide travel, per diem, and housing accommodations when on travel, unless staff are local to the site.

Your Role:
The Incident Commander (IC) will be responsible for overseeing on-site Contractor ICS staff and be full-time in the field. This position will predominantly support natural disaster work, emergency response work in Southern California. All work is done through incident command system.
Work includes directing multimedia sampling (including air), oversight of operations, preparation of reports and tables, review of data, field audits and inspections, organizing and reviewing data, file reviews, collection of air monitoring data, training and exercise support, contractor oversight, and related services.
The position is 100% in the field.

Qualifications:
You must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing or overseeing one (1) or more of the following:
• Construction Operations;
• Demolition Operations;
• Debris removal Operations;
• Environmental remediation teams;
• Hazard tree removal Operations or
• Fixed works Operations
You must also have experience managing multi-disciplined professionals and overseeing debris and tree monitoring and removal contracts or other similar environmental remediation project.
Degree / Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree (equivalent or higher) from an accredited institution in a discipline such as construction management, environmental engineering, environmental science, project management, waste management, silviculture, forestry, arboriculture, or management.
Work Environment
This position is 100% in the field. Work will consist of working 6-7 days a week, including weekends, 10 – 12-hour days and will average 50 – 60 hours per week. In addition, you must be able to:
• Mobilize for a minimum of 3 weeks / 30 days.
• Lift and carry field sampling and other equipment roughly 35lbs.
• Meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work.
• Travel and work on weekends and evenings.
• Bend, kneel, stand.
• Lift and carry objects weighing 35 lbs.
• Work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking, or standing on various, and uneven, terrain in a wide range of weather conditions, both hot and cold, in all seasons.
• Requires overnight travel.
• Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Tetra Tech offers a basic core medical plan and our 401k retirement plan for this position.
The Salary Range for this position is $40.00/hour to $60.00/hour depending on education, experience, skills, and location. Overtime will be paid according to state law.
