Graduate Geo environmental Consultant
Qualifications/skills required:
The relevant person must hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology or relevant environmental science discipline. Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial for you to have a post graduate qualification such as a Master’s degree. Whilst we will consider graduates for this role the ideal candidate will ideally have some relevant experience. You should also be working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as CIWEM IEMA or Geo Soc, however if not we have an accredited chartership scheme that the candidate can join.
An understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance, Part 2A legislation and the development planning regime.
- Whilst not essential at this level, it would be desirable if you have experience in, managing and supervising ground investigations on site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring and have the skills and knowledge to interpret data. Any specific site works accreditations/qualifications held will be an advantage (e.g. Safe Pass etc).
- Knowledgeable in current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation and remediation of contaminated land.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill and be fully IT literate as you will be required to write clear, concise and technically robust reports.
- A good understanding of health, safety and environmental management.
- A full, preferably clean, driving license.
- You will be required to undertake site work outside normal working hours and working away from home will be required for short periods from time to time.
- You will be a team player with strong social, interpersonal and communication skills.
