Purpose & Scope of the Role
Tetra Tech is a leading technical, engineering and environmental consultancy delivering data-driven solutions across water, environment, infrastructure, energy and international development. This Graduate Civil Engineer role sits within an experienced Civil Engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of projects across varied sectors, with opportunity to develop through Tetra Tech’s early careers programme, mentoring and Chartership support.
Your Impact in this position
You’ll contribute to the delivery of projects on time and to budget, working under the supervision of Project Engineers and the Design Team Leader. From design and verification checks to site visits and stakeholder liaison, you’ll help deliver practical, compliant engineering solutions.
5 Core Capabilities
Engineering Design – Undertake civil engineering design in line with EuroCode and BS standards.
Technical Support – Provide input to the Civil Engineering Team and support project delivery.
Design Review & Verification – Assist with design reviews and verification checks to maintain quality.
Site & Survey Work – Carry out site visits and surveys to support project understanding and delivery.
Stakeholder Liaison – Work with clients, architects, contractors, statutory bodies and other stakeholders.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
You’ll need a minimum 2:1 degree in civil engineering or a relevant subject. Desirable experience includes MS Office/MS Teams, previous industry work experience, AutoCAD/Revit and other engineering design software. Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation and a commitment to professional/Chartered status are also important.
Working Environment
Based in Belfast, with hybrid working supported in line with team and project needs. As a graduate role, there will be an expectation to spend more time in the office initially to support learning, collaboration and development, with site visits and project travel as required.
