Purpose & Scope of the Role
Join Tetra Tech’s established Building Services team and work on complex projects across life sciences, defence, commercial, education, industrial, residential, leisure, healthcare and retail sectors. From laboratories and government estates to universities, workplaces and decarbonisation portfolios, you’ll support the design and delivery of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for new build and refurbishment projects. Our work is tailored to client needs, with a strong focus on sustainability and Net Zero Carbon requirements.
Your Impact in this position
You’ll contribute to engineering designs, assist with design reviews and verification checks, support contract administration and project delivery, provide technical support to the M&E team, and liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other stakeholders.

Engineering Designs -
Help develop practical, high-quality building services solutions that improve building operation, comfort and safety.
- Design Reviews and Verification Checks – Support the checking of designs to ensure compliance, quality and technical integrity.
- Contract Administration – Assist in managing project administration to keep delivery on track.
- Project Delivery – Contribute to a varied portfolio of projects and gain exposure across multiple sectors and technical challenges.
- Technical Assistance and Liaison – Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, building strong communication and coordination skills.
Training, Qualifications and Experience
A minimum 2:1 degree in Building Services Engineering or a related subject (MSc or MEng) is required. Previous technical or industry experience is beneficial, along with strong MS Office skills. Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is advantageous, but not essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a self-motivated approach, and suitability for security clearance are required.
Working Environment
Based in Leeds, Manchester or Edinburgh,.with hybrid working supported in line with team and project needs. As a graduate role, you’ll be expected to spend more time in the office initially to support learning and development.
