GIS Analyst (Jr. Level)
The selected candidate will have two plus years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated understanding of GIS tools and concepts, and basic project management concepts including client management and performing to the project scope and timeline under the guidance of the project manager. Must be able to work independently, take direction and pro-actively manage time and resources to maintain project schedules.
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, collect and analyze hazard, threat, and consequence data. and efficiently prepare technical documents. Ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Ability to analyze scientific, environmental, economic and hazard data.

- Ability to successfully support complex and time sensitive projects, manage time and client requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Proficient using MS Office software including Word and Excel.
- ESRI ArcGIS (Suite 10.X) skills a plus including ability to create quality maps using data from multiple platforms. Knowledgeable in coordinate systems and projections.
- Working knowledge of FEMA HAZUS-MH program (flood, wind and seismic models)
- Ability to manage time well and work on tasks as part of a larger project team.
- Highly motivated, client focused and work well in a team environment.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication, client interaction and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check
Bachelor’s in GIS, Geography, Planning or related field. Submittal of portfolio and writing sample illustrating personal content and style of technical or planning documents. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Registered Landscape Architecture (RLA), GIS Professional (GISP), Certification in Floodplain Management (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP),Certified Economic Development Professionals (CEcD) and/or other related certifications that may be applicable to planning and resilience is desirable. Submittal of college transcript required.
