The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join our Brisbane team. In this role, you’ll work independently on projects, from feasibility studies to operational delivery, all while ensuring quality standards are met. You’ll lead small teams, manage multi-disciplinary projects, and contribute to innovative engineering and scientific solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Technical leadership: manage resources for small or larger project aspects, making independent decisions on technical issues
- Project delivery: create designs, reports, and proposals that meet client needs, ensuring timely, budget-conscious results
- Client engagement: represent Tetra Tech Coffey in client meetings, building strong relationships and coordinating work with consultants
- Mentorship: support the growth of junior staff by providing training and guidance
- Innovation & development: stay informed on emerging trends to enhance our competitive advantage
- Business development: contribute to marketing and help expand key accounts with small to medium-sized clients
Key Requirements:
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or environmental science
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology
- Full driver’s license
- Proven ability to work independently while seeking guidance for complex issues
- Experience leading small teams or managing small offices
- Strong communication skills for effective client and stakeholder interaction
- Leadership potential focused on technical accuracy and quality
