Geo-Environmental Consultant/ Engineering Geologist
About the Role
We are looking for a Geo-environmental Consultant or Engineering Geologist at Consultant or Senior Consultant grade to join our team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to be part of Tetra Tech’s 100 strong national geo-environmental and mining business unit. The Manchester team provides land quality, ground investigation, geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy services to a broad range of private and public sector clients.
The role will include:
· The production of desk based assessments of site geology, hydrogeology, history and assessment of risk to generate a conceptual site model and associated ground model.
· Ground investigation design, data interpretation and reporting.
· Ground investigation management and site supervision.
· Production of interpretative reports, strategies and specifications.
· Construction phase input including supervision and reviewing earthworks data.
With appropriate support by other team members the role will incorporate assisting with the project management including multidisciplinary projects. This will include liaison with other disciplines within Tetra Tech and client liaison, meeting attendance (virtual and face to face), involvement in contractor procurement and project financial management.

You will have all, or most of, the following:
· A first degree or Masters degree in geology or engineering geology.
- Practical experience of managing and supervising ground investigations and laboratory scheduling.
- Experience of geotechnical and geo-environmental data assessment and drafting interpretative reports.
- Knowledge of geotechnical and geo-environmental field investigation techniques.
- Some experience in drafting earthworks specifications and in the supervision of earthworks and of mining assessments and investigations would be an advantage.
- A willingness to travel on occasion for ground investigation works or remediation supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fully IT literate such that you can write clear, concise and technically robust reports.
- A good understanding of health, safety and environmental management for ground investigation and of CDM regulations as applicable to design.
- A full, preferably clean, driving license.
- CSCS card relevant to the position
- Strong social, interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in as part of a multi disciplinary team.
