Project Summary
The Energy Security Project (ESP) is a seven-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the largest USAID project in Ukraine so far. The USAID ESP is implemented by a USAID Contractor, Tetra Tech ES, Inc., a California-based leading provider of services in the areas of water, environment, infrastructure, resource management, energy, and international development.
The USAID ESP mission is to enhance Ukraine’s energy security, improve the energy legal and regulatory environment in the country, and increase the resilience of Ukraine’s energy supply. This will help to support the country’s economic development and sustain its democracy. USAID ESP is working closely with the Government of Ukraine (GOU) to develop competitive energy markets. By doing so, USAID ESP will facilitate private sector-led energy investments to provide affordable, reliable, resilient, and secure energy for all Ukrainians. USAID ESP is currently in the fifth year of implementation and will run through June 2025.

Position Summary
USAID ESP is currently looking for a Financial Analyst who will support the Economy Team in collection and summarization of financial information and market statistics, assisting in analysis of the key energy market players, development of data analytics and its visualization. This is a long-term full-time position for the period of 1 year with the possibility of extension, based in Kyiv office, with occasional business travel. The Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Financial Analyst Expert.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collect financial data on key companies in the energy sector, review and analyze quarterly and year-end financial statements and long-term investment plans;
- Collect and summarize the energy market statistics and macroeconomic indicators as required for updating the existing financial models and development of the new ones;
- Collect and summarize NEURC’s registers related to auctions and FiT/FiP assigned;
- Continuous update of PSOs for households and renewable energy results;
- Provide analysis of changes to the legislation in regard to PSOs for households and renewable energy;
- Provide assistance in reconciliation of the tariffs calculated by ESP and proposed by NEURC;
- Assist in preparation of the presentations to the financial models including summary tables, charts and descriptions;
- Cooperation with economy specialists/analytics from electricity/gas/district heating streams;
- Exhibit personal and professional integrity consistent with the company mission, vision, and values;
- Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Financial Analyst Expert
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting;
- Fluency in Ukrainian, English is preferred but not required;
- 2-3 years of professional experience in financial analysis, consulting, accounting;
- Experience in big data analysis, structuring and visualization;
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point);
- Basic knowledge of IFRS and UAS and ability to analyze financial statements;
- Experience with Microsoft power BI will be a plus;
