We are currently looking for a Construction/Environmental Remediation Field Engineer who could also serve in a field Quality Control role to join our growing team!

Location is flexible within the United States.  This position is anticipated to support field assignments with frequent travel both within the U.S. and abroad.  Home-based work locations are permitted, but reliable internet service is essential.  Convenient access to an airport is preferred due to significant business travel requirements.

Your Role:
•    Responsible for the analysis, design, and engineering of assigned civil/mechanical engineering work activities. 
•    Assist senior staff in general and specific civil/mechanical engineering related work activities. 
•    Prepare plans for field investigations and site walk-downs and direct and supervise their implementation.
•    Support Site Supervisor or Construction Manager, by:
o    Assist with sampling or other site-specific activities, as appropriate.
o    Conduct daily briefings and site-specific training for on-site staff when necessary.
o    Conduct project inspections, under the direction of a supervisor.
o    Assist with field engineering duties such as requests for information, submittals, field change requests, and logbooks.
•    Perform or oversee on site Quality Control management through:
o    Inspections and testing, or review of quality control inspection and testing documentation.
o    Compliance with testing standards, project plans, procedures, and specifications.
o    Coordination of document control activities as needed.
o    Review of documents and various data summary/report tables.
•    Supports the preparation or review of drawings, project planning and reporting documents and other deliverables required by each contract.
•    Remain current with applicable environmental, safety and quality (ESQ) control requirements.
•    Support Project Management with day-to-day project execution tasks. 
•    Function as the Field Civil or Mechanical Engineer on small, non-complex projects with responsibility for schedule and budget in addition to technical direction and coordination of all civil engineering phases of the project.
•    Review civil engineering documents for conformance to drawings and specification or scope of work, completeness, and correctness of detail, taking corrective action when necessary.
•    Remain current with codes and standards applicable to civil engineering and company policies.
•    Perform various other tasks as assigned.
•    Follow document control and recordkeeping requirements as outlined in the project specific plans or corporate policies and procedures.
•    Ability to operate effectively with minimal direct supervision.
•    Track Non-conforming or deficient work through to completion of corrective action.
•    Perform Root Cause Analysis or Lessons Learned as needed. 

Qualifications:


•    Preferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a focus in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant Work experience or other technical training/certification can be substituted for education. 
•    At least 4 years of experience in construction, remediation, or environmental science.
•    4 years of applicable experience in heavy construction/earthwork and or mechanical/process systems is desired.
•    Strong communication and writing skills. 
•    Strong planning, coordination, multi-task management, and logistics experience preferred.
•    Must be willing to travel frequently for short or extended time periods.
•    PC, Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required.
•    Valid driver’s license required.
•    Required to have or be prepared to obtain in a timely manner 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and OSHA 30 Hour Construction training. 
•    Prefer knowledge or experience with interpretation of applicable Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), and Quality standards and regulations.
•    Experience performing field Quality Control on construction/remediation or mechanical/process installation system projects.   Relevant training/certification for QC role is preferred.
•    Experience working on Department of Defense military installations related to project experience is preferred.

Compensation:


Salary commensurate with experience. 
Salary Range: $60k-$90k
