Expression of Interest – Australia Assists Humanitarian Roster (Pacific Islanders Only)

Australia Assists is seeking Pacific Island nationals with strong humanitarian and technical expertise to join our Humanitarian Roster for deployment across the Pacific region and beyond. This intake aims to strengthen locally led humanitarian action by supporting Pacific capability in preparedness, disaster response, and early recovery.

This EOI is open exclusively to citizens of Pacific Island countries and territories.

Targeted Technical Skills:

We welcome EOIs from applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Disaster Risk Management
  • Supply Chain & Logistics
  • Warehouse Management
  • GEDSI in Emergencies
  • Information Management (IM)
  • Engineering (civil, structural, WASH, infrastructure)
  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
  • IM/GIS (mapping, spatial analysis, assessments)
  • Climate Adaptation & Resilience
  • GBV & Safeguarding in Emergencies

Selection Criteria Overview - Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Technical proficiency in at least one of the targeted skill areas
  • Experience in humanitarian, development, disaster management, or field operations
  • Strong safeguarding, ethical conduct, and inclusive practice
  • Ability to work in complex, multicultural, or resource-limited environments
  • Alignment with humanitarian principles and localisation values
  • Readiness and resilience for short-notice deployment

What to Submit

Curriculum Vitae (max 3–4 pages) to include:

  • Nationality and country of residence
  • Education and certifications
  • Relevant field/deployment experience
  • Technical expertise and tools/systems
  • Languages
  • Referees (optional at EOI stage)

A 2-page Statement Addressing the Following Criteria:

  • Motivation & alignment with humanitarian values
  • Relevant field/deployment experience (Pacific or international)
  • Technical skills & competencies
  • Safeguarding, ethics & teamwork
  • Cultural agility & communication skills
  • Leadership & problem-solving
  • Deployment readiness & resilience
  • Your potential contribution to the roster

Safeguarding & Background Checks

Australia Assists maintains a zero-tolerance approach to SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment).
Shortlisted candidates will undergo safeguarding checks and may be contacted for an interview or technical assessment.
