Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking several Junior to Mid-Level, Environmental Scientists, Engineers, Geologist and Biologists to support Environmental Remediation projects throughout the western half of the United States, including Alaska, Arizona, California and Hawaii.

You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting projects in addressing the environmental requirements related to large scale remediation, emergency response, CERCLA / Superfund removal and remedial sites, and orphaned well projects.  Selected candidates will conduct multi-media assessments, multimedia sampling, air monitoring, health and safety, construction oversight, methane monitoring, and biological assessments in a differing levels of PPE.

This position is predominantly a field position. Work will consist of working 5-7 days a week (depending on project), 10 – 12 hour days and will average 50 – 60 hours per week. Project work will ebb and flow, these hours are not fully consistent and are project specific. Extensive travel is required and varies based on project requirements; includes weekend travel and work.

Tetra Tech will provide travel, per diem, and housing accommodations when on travel, unless staff are local to the site. Full relocation will not be necessary.

This is a part-time, temporary position.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have environmental remediation or environmental assessment soil /water / air sampling experience is preferred. Alternatively, may have experience conducting environmental field monitoring programs or other comparable background. 

In addition: 
•    Experience in GIS, data base management, working with big data, and SQL Server Data Base Management is a plus.
•    Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. 
•    Ability to manage a heavy workload
•    Able travel and work weekends.
•    Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills
•    Proficient with MS Office applications required.

Degree / Certifications
•    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, or similar 
•    40 hour-HAZWOPER certificate (must be current or within 2 years of completion of initial class) OR complete 40 – hour HAZWOPER prior to first day of work is preferred.

Work Environment

You must be able to:
•    Lift field sampling and other equipment is required, up to 35 pounds
•    Meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work. 
•    Work outside in the field in ALL weather conditions, in all seasons, including hot and cold weather.  
•    Work long days and weekends.
•    Travel for up to 3-4 weeks at a time.
•    You must be able drive on a regular basis.  Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.


The Salary Range for this position is $28.00/hour - $40.00/hour, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
