The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding an experienced Environmental Professional – Regulatory Compliance and Project Oversight to join our growing team. In a collaborative, team-focused environment, you will support Tetra Tech’s Project Managers by addressing environmental regulatory compliance needs for a diverse range of clients. The role involves both field work and office tasks, with a focus on energy-related projects, including linear transmission installations during construction and restoration phases.

Your Role:

  • Provide environmental compliance support (inspection and oversight) on various construction and environmental projects.
  • Interpret and apply environmental regulations, permits, technical documents, construction best management practices (BMPs), and detailed project plans.
  • Ensure project schedules and budgets are met, coordinating travel, vehicle, and equipment needs efficiently.
  • Interact professionally with clients, engineers, regulators, and contractors, fostering a collaborative, integrated team environment.
  • Conduct pre-construction environmental compliance training and in-field “tailgate” training sessions as needed.
  • Independently address and resolve issues in the field, communicating solutions to the Project Team.
  • Prepare and deliver organized, well-written technical reports and documents using various software tools.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

  

Qualifications:

  • Certifications in environmental inspection and regulatory compliance.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in environmental compliance and energy-related projects.
  • Technical expertise in environmental compliance, with the ability to interpret regulations and ensure project adherence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Flexibility in schedule, including the ability to mobilize for fieldwork and perform tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Adherence to project-specific health and safety plans, along with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain necessary health and safety or project-specific certifications, as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to effectively coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience with environmental compliance during energy-related construction phases, such as transmission installations.
