Environmental Hydrogeologist - Calgary, Alberta
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in geology, geoscience or engineering focusing on contaminant and physical hydrogeology.
• Professional status or eligible to register with APEGA.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in a related field, preference will be given to candidates with environmental consulting experience.
• Experience in addressing hydrocarbon, salinity and metals issues in soil and groundwater at contaminated sites including development of specific soil and groundwater remediation guidelines (Tier 2), the subsoil salinity tool (SST) and conducting simple analytical models to assess fate and transport of contaminants in subsurface. Numerical modeling is not required but will be considered as an asset.
• Experience in designing groundwater supply projects including installation of water supply and observation wells and execution of aquifer testing programs as per the regulatory requirements for obtaining groundwater diversion licenses for clients.
• Familiar with Alberta’s regulatory framework including, but not limited to, The Alberta Water Act, and Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA).
• Experience managing projects, developing accurate scopes of work and executing high quality projects on time and on budget.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
