Environmental Field Technician/Part-Time/On-Call/Midland, TX/CG

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: No degree is required however, a B.S. in Engineering, Geoscience or Environmental Science degree desirable. 40-hour OSHA training with Hazmat preferred or training will be provided. Experience in environmental consulting or related experience preferred. Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (TX/NM) preferred. Experience with site remediation, field sampling techniques, and contractor oversight required. Experience or a general knowledge with ArcGIS or Google Earth software a plus.

Other Skills,Abilities and Requirements:  Incumbent must be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing. Some heavy lifting required, including equipment lifting, ability to set and remove a down hole pump, bail water from monitor wells, utilize a hand-held bucket type auger for sample collection.  Work will be split between the Midland, TX office and field. Field work will primarily be in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico area but some overnight travel may be required. Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, possibly wearing FRC clothing. 

Applicants should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills.  Applicant should possess basic math skills.

Applicants should possess basic computer skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently. Computer Skills must include Microsoft Windows Word and Excel.
