Environmental Compliance Specialist - Ukraine
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, energy engineering, or other relevant field
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience applying IEEs, EMMPs, SERFs, ERCs, or environmental impact assessments for donor-funded projects
- Practical working knowledge of U.S. Government environmental compliance requirements (e.g., ADS 204 / 22 CFR 216) and applicable Government of Ukraine environmental laws and regulations
- Experience reviewing or working with technical documentation, such as specifications, scopes of work, installation methodologies, or engineering drawings
- Fluency in Ukrainian and full proficiency in English
Preferred but Not Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, civil engineering, energy engineering, or other relevant field
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience supporting environmental compliance for infrastructure, construction, or energy-sector projects, including application of environmental requirements to equipment procurement or installation activities
- Experience supporting energy infrastructure projects, including electricity transmission and distribution, substations, generation assets, gas systems, or district-heating infrastructure
- Experience applying environmental mitigation measures related to oil-filled electrical equipment, gas-handling systems, hazardous materials, waste management, or occupational health and safety
- Experience on donor-funded international projects or U.S. Government–funded projects
Line Management Responsibility: N/A
Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position requires regular attendance at the office in Kyiv and periodic site visits within Ukraine to support environmental compliance activities. Site visits may include observing equipment deliveries, participating in inspections or audits, and verifying environmental mitigation measures at warehouses, substations, or other project locations
