Entry-Level Geologist- Rancho Cordova, CA
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or related disciplines.
- 0-3 years of experience in environmental site investigations and remediation.
- Has a desire to pursue a California Geologist-In-Training (GIT) (for subsequent Professional Geologist (PG) certification). GIT certification a plus.40-hour HAZWOPER trained with associated 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher and Supervisor Training a plus.
- Positive altitude and good work ethic, and the ability to work as a team and individually.
- Attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on, ability to adapt to the various challenges presented by field work. The following field experience is a plus: drilling and soil logging experience, soil sampling, soil vapor sampling (Summa cannisters with leak detection), and groundwater sampling (purge and sample, dedicated pumps, submersible pumps, low-flow, depth-discrete, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, database, AutoCAD and/or GIS skills a plus.
- Is capable of performing moderate work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Position requires up to 75% percent field work and will require travel (mostly within local region).
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target pay range: $24.00 - $28.00/hr. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
