Tetra Tech’s High Performance Buildings Division is actively seeking an Entry Level Electrical Designer that will work under the supervision of the Lead Electrical Engineer.  The qualified applicant will be able to establish a career in Electrical Design and the skills required to execute project tasks, have a strong work ethic and be a collaborative team player. This person will work closely with senior-level electrical engineering staff and assist in the development of design documents including engineering reports, calculations, and drawings.

With Engineer Supervision, your contributions will Include: 

•  Providing a full range of electrical power, lighting, and communications designs for a variety of projects.
•  Producing complete electrical plans from verbal descriptions and technical documents using Revit modeling
   software.
•  Preparing, reviewing, or modifying diagrams, electrical floor plans, lighting designs, MCC and panel board
   schedules, and detail sheets.
•  Coordinating with other disciplines on tasks to minimize rework and maximize efficiency.
•  Incorporating design changes using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
•  Setting up and maintaining drawings throughout the design process

Required Qualifications:

•  Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Design / Drafting or a closely related subject.
•  Strong drafting and design skills using latest versions of BIM (Revit) and Autocad.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  Must be able to exercise independent judgment to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements.
•  A valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to client offices and project sites, good driving record.
•  Must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents due to certain contractual obligations.

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Knowledge of applicable building codes such as NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 790, ect.
•  Knowledge of applicable building codes such as BICSI TDMM, ect.
•  Experience working with design engineers and / or building contractors.
