Position Summary:
Tetra Tech has an immediate opening for an Engineering Project Manager with experience in solid waste management and engineering. The position is based out of Tetra Tech’s office in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, be comfortable collaborating with colleagues via chats, emails, and teleconferencing tools.
Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare, oversee, and review work products, including technical calculations, memoranda and reports, construction plans and specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and permit applications.
• Interpret federal, state, and local agency regulations.
• Plan and implement investigations, including data analysis and interpretation.
• Participate in advanced gas modeling projects, concept development, and the formulation of operational and design strategies for renewable natural gas and landfill gas projects.
• Maintain client relations and support new business development activities, including proposal preparation.
• Communicate with regulatory agency staff and provide direction to project staff.
• Travel to job sites as required; fieldwork may be involved.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or above in engineering or related environmental field.
• Currently licensed or ability to obtain license as a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and/or Massachusetts.
• Project management experience on engineering and technical projects.
• 8+ years of experience in a related field:
o Solid Waste Management and Engineering
o Environmental Engineering
o Landfill/Renewable Natural Gas Design
• Capability to interact with clients, support sales efforts, and presentations.
• Ability to supervise technical and support staff, provide leadership and mentoring to entry-level staff, and develop professional personnel.
o Supervisory responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Experience leading and supporting multi-discipline proposal efforts.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency with computer usage for document preparation including Word and Excel.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Must obtain/maintain OSHA HAZWOPER certification per company policy and job duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Regulatory experience in the Northeast a plus.
• Established client relationships.
• CAD or GIS skills a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods; occasional standing and walking within the office environment.
• Occasionally required to lift/move up to 10 lbs, with infrequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.
• Requires use of hands for typing, handling materials, and operating office equipment; vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• May occasionally travel to field sites (approximately 10–30% of the time), which can involve walking on uneven terrain and slopes up to 2:1 or 3:1 grade.
• When in the field, must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator if required, and may need to meet medical clearance standards based on assignment.

Pay: $100,000 – 155,000 annually; commensurate with skill level, geography region, and experience.
