ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST

Engineering Geologist needed to work in our New Orleans, LA office on a wide range of coastal, industrial, governmental, and commercial geotechnical engineering projects.  Candidate will support our New Orleans office in geology, soils, instrumentation, and groundwater field and office services for various projects in throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast Region.  Responsibilities include planning, permitting, preparing for, and performing field activities such as collecting soil samples; designing field instrumentation programs, overseeing and/or performing field instrumentation installation and monitoring,; performing and/or interpreting geophysical surveys; conducting record retrievals and research; and, data collection, review and analysis.  Candidate must be thorough in note taking and preparation of data reports.  This position will provide a dynamic, team-oriented work environment and an exceptional opportunity for career growth. 

 

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will be technically superior and must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.  
  • Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Geology or Geological Engineering.
  • Good computer skills required with experience in presentation software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Knowledge of Louisiana geology, and skilled in soil classification.
  • Comfortable using analytical field equipment for geotechnical investigations and instrumentation monitoring.
  • Ability to direct field personnel and supervise drillers on projects.
