Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering such as BSc or BEng
  • Five years of relevant work experience in energy system planning, studies and modelling
  • Knowledge of Python programming language
  • Advanced IT literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to return to first principles and academic literature to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to confidently build and maintain external and internal relationships.
  • A systematic, logical approach to problem solving.
  • Detail-oriented and careful approach to completing assignments.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and client needs.
  • Highly motivated to learn on the job, interface with clients, and undertake training.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English 
  • Proficiency in the MS Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Strong research capabilities, using a variety of primary and secondary sources.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degrees such as MSc, MEng, or PhD
  • Experience in technical role within energy sector 
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written French

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer

 

Work Environment / Schedule

  • Work schedule: Monday – Friday, standard core business hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM local time); some flexibility require
  • The position is fully remote; flexible hours but must overlap core business hours for team collaboration.
  • Travel requirements: Travel internationally up with an estimated 20% of time to visit utilities, national control centers, substations, project sites and power plants to collect data, via measurements, as necessary.
