Energy Sector Senior Associate - Germany or Remote
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, political science, law, economics, or environmental sciences or similar.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the energy sector.
- Experience working with or for a variety of clients including MDBs and donors.
- Understanding of the European energy market, and related regulatory framework (energy acquis).
- Demonstrate autonomy, teamwork, flexibility, dedication in the assigned duties, and a highly cooperative spirit.
- Entrepreneurial spirit exhibited through grit and resilience.
- Extremely deft communicator - listening, empathizing and communicating well with a range of audience types, especially customers and partners and navigating difficult situations to reach win-win solutions and deep, long-term business relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality deliverables
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Must be able to travel (international field sites), as needed.
Valued Qualifications:
- Oral and written communication skills in German, French or Russian.
- History of working in the sustainability sectors, with a deep understanding of renewable energy policies and power markets, green hydrogen technologies, auction schemes and power utilities, and just energy transition.
- Experience with the Eastern European, Western Balkans and/or Egyptian energy sector.
- Familiarity with quantitative skills, such as data analysis, statistical modeling, or financial analysis.

- The role will involve some travel depending on the nature of the work required, up to 25% of the time.
