Energy Sector Experts - West Bank/Gaza, Palestine
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, business, finance, economics, law, public policy or similar field.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the energy sector.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience implementing and/or managing projects in conflict/post-conflict areas, with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively and safely.
- Proven experience in implementing security protocols and risk management strategies to ensure the safety of staff and assets in conflict zones.
- Strong understanding of conflict dynamics and conflict-sensitive approaches, including adapting project implementation to minimize risks and maximize impact in challenging environments.
- Familiarity with cost-effective infrastructure solutions that maximize impact with minimal investment, crucial in resource-scarce environments.
- Ability to build effective relationships with peers, supervisors, clients, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the political, social and cultural context of working in conflict/post-conflict zones.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic, enabling effective communication with local stakeholders and project teams.
Preferred but Not Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience supporting USAID or other donor-funded energy projects in the West Bank/Gaza and in the MENA Region
- Prior experience working for national government, international organization and electric utilities
