Emergency Management Planner - Mid Level
Must have a minimum 5 years experience in emergency management or public safety with documented success serving in exercise design, conduct, and evaluation. Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Must be able to be a self-starter and solutions-orientated worker. Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills are essential. Must have knowledge of national emergency management trends and program initiatives. Travel, work in client offices, oral presentations, and written report preparation will be required. The selected candidate will manage project schedules and budgets, will interface directly with clients, and will also assist in marketing, proposal writing, and other business development activities. Must have the ability to work in an unsupervised environment. Selected candidate will be required to travel approximately 25 percent of the time. Must have the ability to drive a personal vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check.
BS/Masters in Public Administration, Emergency Management, Communications, Political Science or related discipline. Certified Emergency Manager and/or Master Exercise Practitioner credentials are preferred. DHS Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training is required.
