Emergency Management Planner
Must have a minimum 5 years experience in emergency management or public safety with documented success serving in exercise design, conduct, and evaluation. Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Must be able to be a self-starter and solutions-orientated worker. Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills are essential. Must have knowledge of national emergency management trends and program initiatives. Travel, work in client offices, oral presentations, and written report preparation will be required. Candidate will manage project schedules and budgets, will interface directly with clients, and will also assist in marketing, proposal writing, and other business development activities. Certified Emergency Manager and/or Master Exercise Practitioner credentials are preferred. DHS Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training is required. Must have the ability to work in an unsupervised environment. BS/Masters in Public Administration, Emergency Management, Communications, Political Science or related discipline. Period travel within the Continental United States and its territories requirements. Most work is performed in an office setting but some outdoor activities (e.g. exercises) may be required.
