Qualifications:

  • Possess a B.S. or M.S. in a related field (i.e., engineering, biology, planning, environmental studies, or a closely related discipline).
  • Exhibit 10-25 years of professional experience. This experience may include electric transmission, power generation and/or natural gas transmission siting and permitting experience, with prior project management of fossil-fuel and renewable energy infrastructures facility permitting projects.
  • In depth knowledge of siting application requirements and experience providing expert witness testimony to the California Public Utilities Commission. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Public Utilities Commissions in other western states.
  • Experience and knowledge of the regulatory frameworks of California agencies, such as the California Energy Commission, California Coastal Commission, California State Lands Commission, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and State Water Resources Control Board.
  • Experience with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), federal and state permitting, onshore and offshore wind, power generation and transmission, infrastructure, and/or renewable energy.
  • Knowledge of GIS and other software used in the routing and siting of electric transmission and renewable energy projects.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder engagement meetings for electric transmission and renewable energy projects.
  • Ability to lead and provide subject matter expert review of early-stage critical issues analyses and due diligence reviews of existing or planned projects on behalf of clients.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of interconnection studies of offshore & onshore renewable energy projects; staying attuned of federal and state rules for transmission interconnections of renewables and support the filing of new interconnection agreements.
  • Knowledge of internal interconnection feasibility studies and network upgrade cost estimate activities through the full life cycle of development and construction of projects.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $200,000 yr.
