Position Summary:
The Digital Services Project Manager plays a key role in advancing Tetra Tech’s mission to build resilient, sustainable communities. This position leads the design and delivery of automation, controls, and instrumentation projects. Serving as both a technical and project management leader, this role ensures high-quality, cost-effective solutions while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and strengthening client relationships.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages multidisciplinary teams of automation engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and integration professionals to deliver digital systems projects on time and within budget.
- Oversees project planning, design, integration, testing, and commissioning activities for industrial automation, SCADA systems, and digital infrastructure projects.
- Leads technical development by preparing and reviewing system architectures, control strategies, network diagrams, specifications, and integration plans to ensure alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
- Serves as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and technology vendors, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring successful project delivery across all phases.
- Coordinates integration across multiple systems and vendors, ensuring seamless data flow between power systems, facility controls, SCADA platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Collaborates with other project managers, discipline leads, and regional leadership to align resources, standardize delivery approaches, and support strategic growth initiatives within the Digital Systems group.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive experience in industrial automation, SCADA systems, or controls engineering (design through commissioning)
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary automation or systems integration projects
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA/HMI platforms, industrial networks, and control system architectures
- Experience integrating systems across multiple vendors and platforms in complex environments
- Familiarity with OT cybersecurity principles and industrial standards (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and technical teams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data centers, power systems, utilities, and/or other critical infrastructure sectors
- Experience with enterprise integration (e.g., historians, analytics platforms, EAM systems)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:
- Sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Walk on uneven terrain and navigate active construction sites safely
- Work Environment/Environment Factors
- This position primarily operates in an office setting with hybrid flexibility
- Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, or field locations may be required
- Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction sites, and active infrastructure environments
Additional Information:
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with flexibility to balance office collaboration and remote work.
Salary Range:
$125,000 - $150,000 based on experience.
