Deputy Chief of Party - Afghanistan
Essential KSA’s Required (experience, skills, education, certification, etc.):
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, economics, international development or similar field
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 7 years of experience providing management and leadership on high profile on USAID or other donor-funded projects experience in strategic planning, management, supervision, and budgeting.
- Prior experience working with electric utilities, energy management. Experience in regulatory governance and investment planning is an add.
- Ability to establish solid working relationships with high-level/senior national and local government officials, the private sector and civil society
- Supervisory experience in the international development industry, specifically with long-term field staff and short-term U.S., third country, and local experts
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and/or experiences in financial planning and management, and procurement, among other management support areas/functions.
- A proven record of excellent management, strong administrative and organizational skills, strategic thinking and decision-making, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, including being a strong writer and articulate speaker
- Language: Fluency in English is required with strong oral and written presentation skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Valued but not required KSA’s:
- Master’s degree in business management, engineering, economics, international development or similar field
- Experience in the Afghanistan energy sector
- Fluency in Urdu is strongly desired, but not required.
