Data Engineer (MPES)
Position Summary:
Segue Technologies seeks a Data Engineer to provide deliverable-focused development, maintenance, and sustainment support of ongoing data management and SAP Business Objects support tasks. This position is full-time and 100% remote with the ability to reach the Pentagon within 1 hour to support on-site requirements as necessary. Travel to a government facility will be required to obtain security credentials.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Business Objects report development and maintenance
- Development of new data management capabilities based on Government-directed requirements
- Work independently and as part of a team to analyze data-related issues and requirements and translate these into processes and/or development tasks
- Work with stakeholders and business area subject matter experts to enhance data management business practices, process standardization, and data analysis
- Prepare, review, and update data management documentation
- Work directly with Data Management lead and product owners to manage client priorities according to changing/evolving business needs
- Meet established deadlines and work within established sprint cycles
- Additional tasks as required
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Software Engineering or another technical field, or related major. Relevant technical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of data management/data administration experience
- 2+ year of experience with SAP Business Objects
- 3+ years of experience with data analysis and development of design specifications, architecture diagrams, data models, and data dictionaries
- 3+ years of experience using SQL Server including SQL, stored procedures, indexes, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision and in a team environment
- Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
- Must hold or be able to pass a Federal Background investigation to obtain a Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Tableau and Power BI
- Experience with Agile principles and supporting software such as: JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.
- Experience with development tools such as: GIT, Gradle, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with DISA security and STIGs
