Position Summary:
As a Data Center Commissioning Authority, you will lead and manage commissioning activities from design through turnover, including Level 2 through Level 5 commissioning. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, detail-oriented leader who can anticipate problems, communicate solutions clearly, and guide commissioning agents in fast-paced project environments.

Essential Job Functions:

    • Conduct field observations and functional testing of data center MEP systems, controls, instrumentation, and critical power infrastructure.

    • Verify the installation, startup, operation, sequencing, redundancy, and resiliency of mission-critical systems.

    • Lead commissioning meetings and coordinate activities among owners, design teams, contractors, vendors, and facility operators.

    • Manage commissioning schedules, tasks, resources, and project deliverables.

    • Identify deficiencies and potential risks before testing or verification; clearly document issues, solutions, and corrective actions.

    • Maintain issue-resolution logs and compile comprehensive commissioning reports and closeout documentation.

    • Lead, coach, and mentor commissioning agents and support their professional development.

    • Assist with project management, quality assurance/quality control, budgeting, and resource planning as needed.

    • Follow applicable internal procedures, safety requirements, legislation, and industry standards.

    • Maintain current knowledge of data center technologies, commissioning practices, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, construction, building science, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of related industry experience, including 2+ years in data center commissioning, operations, construction, testing, or quality assurance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center mechanical and electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and critical power systems.
  • Experience managing commissioning schedules, project tasks, resources, and deliverables.
  • Strong written, verbal, client-facing, and relationship-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaboratively, work independently, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional, constructive communication style and a commitment to positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work on active job sites for extended periods, climb ladders or stairs, and lift or carry loads exceeding 20 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50–70% to project sites.
