As a Lighting Designer at Cosentini, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a busy, growing Lighting Design department within a large well established and reputable engineering firm. We work across all sectors of the market including high-rise residential, hospitality, healthcare, education and more. We put a strong emphasis on sustainability. We are a collaborative architectural lighting design practice dedicated to creating inspiring, thoughtful, and technically sophisticated lighting solutions.

Your Role:
• Produce accurate fixture layouts, specifications and photometric calculations for supervisory review
• Produce drawings and associated documentation
• Adhere to all jurisdictional code and requirements 
• Prepare lighting fixture schedule, cut packages, and provide fixture options and selections
• Provide energy analysis calculations (LPDs)
• Develop creative lighting concepts and design presentations.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, engineers, and manufacturers.
• Participate in client meetings, design workshops, and project presentations. 
• Attend trade shows
• Visit and consult manufacturer representatives to keep apprised of latest technologies
• Visit and consult custom fixture manufacturers
• Review shop drawings, product submittals, and mock-up results.
• Conduct site visits and support construction administration activities.
• Assist with fixture research, controls integration, and sustainable design strategies.
• Complete assigned tasks and project documentation on time while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Takes ownership of assignments, can work both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications:
• BS/BA/BAE in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Engineering or related field
• Architectural / Electrical Engineering / Lighting Design background
• 3-5 years of related professional experience in lighting design for large and complex buildings
• Proficient in Auto CAD, Revit, and AGI32
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe Photoshop and inDesign
• Proficient in COMcheck
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Motivated and shows professional initiative
• Knowledge of manufacturers, fixtures, specifications, industry standards and energy codes
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Coordinates with other disciplines
• Knowledge of 3-D modeling programs, i.e. Rhino, 3-D Studio Max, etc. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of daylight harvesting systems (Preferred)
• LEED Accreditation (Preferred)

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience. 
Pay Range: $75,000 – $85,000
