Tetra Tech is adding a Conveyance Design Engineer, EIT to our growing Water team based in Irvine, CA. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer who’s looking for technical career growth on challenging water and wastewater conveyance projects with opportunities for training in business development and management skills.  Your Role

As part of our conveyance group, you’ll work alongside seasoned engineers and technical leaders on impactful projects throughout California and beyond. This position is designed for an emerging engineer who’s ready to develop a strong foundation in water/wastewater infrastructure with a clear career growth path.

You’ll support the planning and design of:

  • Large-scale water and wastewater conveyance projects from planning through construction.

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams of civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers.

  • Execute the client’s objectives by preparing construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and permit packages.

  • Assist with the preparation of design calculations and hydraulic analyses for pipelines, pump stations, force mains, and collection systems.

  • Engage in on-site investigations and client coordination, gaining firsthand experience in project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required.

  • 0–5 years of relevant engineering experience (internship or co-op experience welcome).

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred (or in progress).

  • Exposure to or interest in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.

  • Enthusiasm for learning, teamwork, and building a long-term career in water infrastructure.

     

     

     

    CA Salary: $77,000- $95,000 dependent on experience
