Lead site investigations, risk assessments and remediation projects with a Specialist Geotechnical consultancy

We are seeking an experienced and driven Contaminated Land Specialist to join our established and growing geotechnical group in New Zealand.
This is a national role, responsible for leading and growing our contaminated land capability across NZ while delivering high-quality technical outcomes for our clients. The role can be based in Christchurch or Auckland, with strong collaboration across our Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Bay of Plenty teams.
The Opportunity
As our Contaminated Land Specialist, you will:
Lead the delivery of contaminated land and geo-environmental projects across New Zealand
Provide technical leadership and oversight on complex and high-profile projects
Work closely with our established geotechnical teams to deliver integrated ground engineering and environmental solutions
Build and strengthen internal relationships across offices to enhance collaboration and project outcomes
Support business development, client engagement and capability growth
This is an opportunity to shape a national service offering within a long-established specialist consultancy.
About You
You will be a contaminated land / geo-environmental professional with:
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation within a consulting context
Extensive experience preparing Preliminary Site Investigations, Detailed Site Investigations, Site Management Plans, Remedial Action Plans and Validation Reports
Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships
Demonstrated capability in building strong internal and external relationships
Experience working within New Zealand regulatory frameworks
CEnvP (Contaminated Land Specialist) or CPEng (Environmental/Geotechnical) and being able to operate as a suitably qualified and experienced practitioner (SQEP) under the NES will be highly regarded.
