The role

The Consultant, Markets and Clients supports proposal development, research and analysis, and project coordination activities across Tetra Tech’s international development portfolio.

Working with sector leads, technical specialists and project teams, you will contribute to proposal development, pipeline management, analytical research and internal coordination activities. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in international development consulting while gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle - from identifying emerging opportunities and shaping proposals, through to supporting delivery and learning across programs.


Key responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of high-quality proposals, including drafting inputs, formatting and compliance checks
  • Support maintaining business development pipeline and opportunity tracking tools
  • Coordinate bid and tender activities, including schedule, submission requirements and client clarifications
  • Prepare briefing notes, summaries and analytical inputs for sector teams and leadership
  • Support qualitative and quantitative research activities, including stakeholder interview summaries, thematic coding and data organisation
  • Undertake literature reviews, policy analysis and background research to support proposals, evaluations and advisory assignments
  • Provide coordination and administrative support to project managers and technical teams


Selection criteria

Essential

  • Relevant undergraduate qualification in international development, economics, social sciences, public policy, business or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in consulting, professional services, research, government, policy or development-related roles
  • Demonstrated interest in business development, research and/or project coordination
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated research and analytical capability (qualitative and/or quantitative)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Desirable

  • Exposure to the international development sector or international relations
  • Exposure to proposal development, tenders or grant applications
