Construction Superintendent

Position Summary:
This role will provide onsite leadership for projects that may include environmental remediation, AFFF transition and infrastructure upgrades, fire protection system installations, small vertical construction projects, and heavy civil/site development work. The Construction Superintendent is responsible for safely managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors and project teams, and ensuring successful project execution from mobilization through completion.
Essential Job Functions:

• Lead and supervise daily field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and craft personnel.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety expectations.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address field challenges to maintain project performance.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, project managers, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation, daily reports, schedules, and field records.
• Champion Tetra Tech's commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all project activities.
• Support projects through startup, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases.
• Additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience managing field construction activities on industrial, environmental, infrastructure, utility, commercial, or heavy civil projects.
• Demonstrated experience supervising subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams.
• Experience with environmental remediation, fire protection systems, AFFF transition projects, small vertical construction, heavy civil/site development, or utility and infrastructure improvements OR a diverse experience background that translates to these various disciplines.
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices, quality control, scheduling, and field execution – ability to qualify (with appropriate training or refresher training) as a Site Health and Safety Officer or QC Field Manager.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively to project sites nationwide.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical training or construction-related certifications are preferred.
• OSHA, HAZWOPER, EM-385, or other applicable industry certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and perform site inspections for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• This position will include both office, remote (home) work, and field assignments.
• Field assignments could include exposure to the elements for prolonged durations. Personal protective equipment and other means to protect workers from the elements will be utilized per our safety standards and as necessary.
Additional Information:
• Position requires frequent travel and extended assignments at project sites throughout the United States, including remote locations.
• Current project demands include support for nationwide AFFF transition and fire protection infrastructure projects.
• Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $100k-$120k
A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
