Construction Monitor
Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma is required.
5+ years of construction management and monitoring work experience.
Ability to perform and lead field data collection and construction and reclamation oversight on state and Federal lands and facilities, commercial and industrial sites including active mines (approx. 75%-80% of travel required).
Ability to correctly read and interpret engineer design drawings and as-builts.
Ability to read and interpret construction specifications
Strong skills and proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft-based software, including MS Excel and MS Word, for data analysis and report preparation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize scientific data and model outputs in concise, readable language.
Ability to work outdoors for long hours in a high-heat desert environment is a must
A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions
Preferred Qualifications:
Training and certification as a construction Stormwater professional as a QSP or QSD preferred, or ability to acquire.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to traverse large terrain carrying equipment and materials up to 50 lbs over uneven ground, in all weather conditions (high-heat desert environment).
Ability to work outdoors for long hours in a high-heat desert environment is a must.
Ability to travel and perform field work (100% field-based position with 75-80% of travel required).
Must be able to work a job shift starting in the early morning (onsite starting at 5:00am) in order to mitigate ambient heat conditions during summer months.
Have full range of motion to support field activities.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
This position will be a 100% field position operating in the outdoors around the Salton Sea area monitoring construction activities of the projects.
Field work will include work to be performed outside, as a result will include working in various environmental factors (weather, altitude, terrain, noise, etc.). This can include remaining stationary for long periods of time, walking, bending, lifting, and sitting for field activities.
Additional Information:
Full-time, Monday through Friday work schedule (40 hours). Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and/or client needs.
Work will be performed in a field setting.
Target salary range: $40.00 / hour to $45.00 / hour.
