Tetra Tech, needs a Mechanical Engineer in Europe for construction of New US Embassy Compound with State Dept. Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) in Podgorica, Montenegro. Requires a US Govt. Secret Security Clearance.
The Project
- New US Embassy Compound (NEC)
- New Chancery
- Demolition of the existing chancery and temporary annex buildings
- Marine Security Guard Residence (MSGR)
- Shop Facilities and Utility Building (UTL)
- Waste Treatment Facility
- Recreation Facilities
- Security Upgrades
- The position is expected to last 24-30 months.
- Housing and transportation allowances provided.
- Uplift includes 10% of base salary
- Benefits (medical, dental, vision, 30 days paid time off a year, paid round trip flights home)
Position Description
You will:
- Provide the NEC project with a full range of critical engineering, construction quality assurance, and technical oversight.
- Perform technical inspections of mechanical work, monitor construction contractor's quality control program, and review project drawings to ensure compliance.
- Observe on-site construction and make sure construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.
- Monitor construction progress regarding project schedule and submit weekly progress reports with recommendations based on technical review of project documents and field inspections.
Requirements

US Govt. Secret Clearance or higher

US Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Current US PE license can substitute for degree
- 7 years construction experience
- ABET accredited international degree accepted in lieu of US Bachelor’s or US PE
