Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist - South Africa

Essential KSAs Required (experience, skills, education, certification, etc.):

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, international development, or related field

  • 5+ years’ experience in the region implementing communications and outreach initiatives with a focus on international development projects in Southern and Central Africa

  • Fluency in English is required (reading, writing, editing, and presentation skills) 

  • Experience with the logistics of webinars, video conferences, virtual library, calendar, and invitations (RSVPs) to learning activities and events

  • Highly knowledgeable about the use of varied digital platforms and mechanisms to support learning and outreach campaigns

  • Proven ability to design, lead, and evaluate public outreach campaigns for diverse audiences

  • Proven ability to develop and edit the audio and visual media pieces

  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Proven ability to work with various stakeholders located in different time zones

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Canva, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)

  • Strong working knowledge of social media storytelling and online marketing/content management platforms (Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, PinPointe)


Valued but not required KSAs:

  • Proficiency in French or Portuguese
